2009 State Singles Weekend:
Mixed Pairs
7 teams contested the ACTDC mixed pairs event. Mick Mullaney & Charlie Hutchinson beat Eddy Luckwell & Kath Clemson, and Brad Spurway & Glenda Busby beat Steve Wood & Jojo McAnallen. Mick & Charlie fought off a brave fightback from Brad & Glenda to take the honours. 180s: 2 - Mick Mullaney 1 - Barry Forde, Jason Mudge, Eddy Luckwell Ladies 9 ladies fought it out over 2 boards. After the round robin stages, the quarter finalists were Kath Clemson, Mihi Reid, Yvette Harris, Kim Mclean, Glenda Busby, Kris Jones, Charlie Hutchinson & Jane Cullen. Kath, Glenda, Kim, & Jane progressed through to the semi finals. Glenda (14.63) took out Kim (14.22) 3-1, and Kath (18.33) won 3-0 against Jane (14.27). This set up a final between Kath and Glenda. Kath (15.84) got a win, taking the match 4-1 against Glenda (14.63). There were 10 men in the round robin stages. This was reduced to 8 in the knock out stages. Jason Mudge (22.67) lost to Fleety (27.83) 3-0, Brad Spurway (19.38) lost to Bull (21.38), Mick Mullaney (26.45) lost to Steve Wood (23.83), and Barry Forde (15.39) lost to Jamie Browne (24.64) In the semi-finals, Jamie (22.67) defeated Steve (19.16) 4-1, and Fleety (26.04) beat Bull (22.26) 4-1. Fleety quickly jumped to a 5 nil lead over Jamie, and although Jamie pegged back 2 legs, Fleety wasnt about to let his lead slip, and cruised to a 6-2 victory. Jamie averaged 24.80, and Fleety 26.79 ppd. 180's: Mick Mullaney - 4 Jamie, Jason - 2
